Electrical Fitter / Motor Rewinder

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Australasia's first EASA-accredited electrical service workshop with over 37 years' experience in the repair, rewind, overhaul and sale of a wide variety of rotating and fixed electrical equipment. EMR has established itself as a respected leader in the refurbishment, rewind, overhaul and sale of a wide variety of rotating and fixed electrical equipment.

Our workshop houses some of the most advanced technology in the electrical rewinding industry including a large, controlled pyrolysis burn off furnace with recordable reporting, Insolutions automatic VPI system, Schenck dynamic balancing machine, computer controlled coreloss and a Samatic automatic coil winding machine. Operated by a team of experienced, trade-qualified professionals boasting a combined 140+ years of knowledge.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this role will be responsible for the rewinding and fitting of a variety of electric motors and pumps as well as assisting in the training and supervision of trainees and apprentices.

To be successful in this role you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Electrical Fitter / Motor Rewinder - Mandatory
  • Electrical Trade Certificate required
  • HRW Forklift Licence - Advantageous
  • Sound technical knowledge - Advantages
  • Broad knowledge of AC and DC motors from fractional H/P to large machines - Advantages
  • Machining and dynamic balancing experience - Advantageous
  • Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.

TAFE students are encouraged to apply for an adjusted position that allows for flexible hours and valuable industry experience.
