Drill Fitter For Surface Drill Operation
Workshop Position

West Core Drilling Pty Ltd is a privately owned independent surface drilling company, specialising in diamond coring activity.

The company provides its specialised services to the mining and exploration industry throughout WA.

The company requires a Mechanical Fitters to join our team to perform servicing and maintenance to our fleet of surface drill rigs and associated auxiliary equipment at our workshop facilities.

Work autonomously in a family friendly environment, where you are not just a number but as a valued team member of the maintenance team.

Scope of position:

  • Actively perform day-to-day operational duties to provide maintenance, servicing and repairs to the company's fleet of drill rigs, vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
  • Working closely with the maintenance manager to organise and priorities maintenance and repairs to drill rigs and associated equipment.
  • Perform all mechanical services to a high professional standard to maintain quality assurance.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
  • The position is field Based and negotiable to working cycle.

Prerequisites for the position include:

  • Experience as a Heavy-Duty fitter.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of PLC systems.
  • Experience working on Surface Diamond Drill Rigs or similar (an advantage).
  • Possess good communication skills (oral and written).
  • A strong focus on health and safety in the workplace.
  • HR licence or willing to obtain one. The company will provide assistance in obtaining your HR-B licence.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications in Heavy Duty Fitter or equivalent.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical.
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol screen.
  • Current police clearance.
  • Fully covid vaccinated.
  • Valid WA drivers licence.
