The Fire Pump Technician and Flow Testing Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of pumps and flow measurement equipment. This role involves conducting flow testing procedures to ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, commission, and troubleshoot various pump systems including centrifugals, reciprocals, and submersibles.
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on pump equipment.
Perform flow testing and calibration to ensure measurement accuracy and system efficiency.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with pumps and associated instrumentation.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals related to pump systems and flow measurement devices.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, industry regulations, and environmental standards.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
Assist in troubleshooting system failures and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience with pump installation, maintenance, and repair.
Knowledge of flow measurement methods and testing procedures.
Familiarity with pump control systems, electrical connections, and instrumentation.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, Lockout/Tagout) preferred.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications related to mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation fields preferred.
