Job Description

The successful applicant will work with students in the Junior School environment under the direction of teachers, this could be in both an individual and small group setting. This is a part-time (0.2 FTE), term-time, fixed term contract for 2026.

Key Responsibilities

· To assist the teachers to whom you are assigned.

· Implement Teacher directed activities.

· Prepare and pack away any necessary resources and workstations.

· Provide supportive care to students with diverse needs.

· Ensure the students are working on target in the classroom.

· Work with individual students catering for their needs.

· Work with students in small groups, pairs and individually.

· Assist students to work with alternate/modified mainstream programs.

· Assist students to present their work in word documents, web pages, posters etc.

· Assist staff with administrative needs.

· Work as part of a team to implement exciting and engaging support for students.

Key Selection Criteria

· Tertiary qualifications at certificate level or equivalent relevant qualifications.

· Hold or qualify for a Working with Children Blue Card issued from the Public Safety Business Agency (PSBA).

· Exhibit genuine care and concern for children and possess a willingness to support them in day to day school life.

· Experience in learning support would be highly regarded.

· Show initiative and problem solve, taking responsibility for initiating tasks, new ideas and processes.

· Have a strong ability to work in a team environment, cooperating with others and working collaboratively to deliver on shared tasks.

· Be reliable and dedicated and demonstrated ability to meet timeframes.

· Energy and commitment with a strong work ethic.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Qualifications in supporting students with additional needs would be highly regarded.
