Approach is partnering with a highly regarded Canberra-based MSP to find an experienced Service Team Engineer ready to take on a technically challenging and client-facing role. You'll be the go-to escalation point for complex issues, working across a broad range of technologies and systems to deliver outstanding results for diverse clients.

Your Day-to-day

  • Act as the primary escalation point for Level 1–2 technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with clients and the service team.
  • Provide application, network, and infrastructure support across varied environments.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and applications, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure, Wintel, and Active Directory.
  • Support networking infrastructure with WatchGuard, FortiGate, Aruba, and Ubiquiti solutions.
  • Manage security tools and services including MDM, Sophos, Defender, and Tenable.
  • Deliver deskside and onsite support for scheduled and reactive requests.
  • Work with virtualisation and infrastructure platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Veeam, APC, Synology, and Avigilon.
  • Maintain accurate records in the ConnectWise CRM and ensure all client and ticket information is up to date.
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting skills development.
  • Participate in the after-hours support roster on a rotational basis.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in an MSP environment.
  • Proven hands-on skills across:
  • Networking: WatchGuard, FortiGate, Aruba, Ubiquiti
  • Telephony: SIP, Teams, 3CX
  • Cloud & Apps: SharePoint, Wintel, Azure
  • Security: MDM, Sophos, Defender, Tenable
  • Virtualisation & Infrastructure: VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Veeam, APC, Synology, Avigilon
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, Fortinet NSE4, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Desirable: Windows Server management (2008–2016), SQL, and advanced virtualisation experience.
