City of Newcastle is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Building Trade Services Team as an Apprentice Metal Fabricator. This hands-on role will provide you with the skills, experience, and nationally recognised qualification of a Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication Trade – upon successful completion of your apprenticeship.

As a Metal Fabrication Apprentice, you will work in conjunction with highly experienced Supervisors and Coordinators, focusing on a variety of metal fabrication projects and acquiring skills in the ability to maintain and repair Councils assets.

This is a 4-year fixed-term contract based within our Assets and Facilities team, where you will gain exposure to all elements of metal fabrication through on-the-job and technical training.

If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of the recruitment process after the assessment centre:

You will be required to complete a Pre-employment medical scheduled to take place on Tuesday 7th - Tuesday, 14th October 2025.

Remuneration:  $37, % annual leave loading, yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week
