About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities

The Acute Care Service model of care provides:

1. Mental Health assessments to consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems (including a rapid response when indicated) and determining an appropriate pathway to care.
2. Short term mental health treatment in the community often as an alternative to hospital.
3. In reach to hospital to promote effective follow up post mental health admission.
4. Collaborative care for consumers transferring between hospital and community.
5. The model provides short term mental health interventions in the community for consumers experiencing mental health distress. Once the symptoms have resolved and the presentation is no longer acute the team collaborate with other stakeholders for the most appropriate ongoing care and treatment.

Ideal Candidate

• Currently holds a valid NSW driver's licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable)
• Recognised nursing tertiary qualifications, current nursing registration with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice.
