Portfolio and Platform Business within Commercial & Personal Injury Insurance offers a diverse suite of business protection products, including SME packages, corporate liability, corporate property, motor and speciality insurance. Our business is distributed primarily distribute through intermediaries under the Vero brand, while GIO and AAMI provide direct access for customers. Platforms include a mixture of internal platforms, broker platforms, direct online and direct call centre. Our range of products, distribution methods and platforms demand a vast suite of bespoke wordings tailored to meet customer needs.
This role leads Commercial & Personal Injury Portfolio assurance, where you'll help shape the future of business protection for Australia's leading brands. As the Portfolio Assurance Specialist, you'll be the trusted advisor, ensuring our diverse suite of insurance products are robust, compliant, and tailored to today's dynamic market. This role is also pivotal in identifying, assessing and managing insurance risk within Portfolio and Platform Business to Manage value chain leakage and ensure operation remains within Board-approved (RAS) tolerances.
What you'll do (not limited to):
- Identify and manage insurance risks, ensuring the business remains within Board-approved risk tolerances
- Develop, maintain and refine governance frameworks and standards, embedding robust controls and uplifting assurance practices to improve risk maturity and alignment with relevant Group policies
- Lead the response to regulatory and audit requests, ensuring our data and processes meet the highest standards
- Drive accountability and commitment to the delivery of key controls and appropriate governance as well as proactively reviewing adherence to provide assurance up the line
- Enhance incident management and support the continuous improvement of our risk operating rhythm.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years' experience in insurance product, risk, compliance, or legal roles, with deep knowledge of commercial insurance products and assurance activities
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to clarify ambiguity and drive governance actions into BAU
- A passion for problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement, thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Good understanding of Commercial Insurance products, risks, the insurance industry and market environment, customer segment and regulatory change
- Demonstrated track record of leading programs of work to achieve strategic goals.
