Solo Resource Recovery is a family owned and operated business, supplying waste removal and recycling services throughout Australia for over 90 years. An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and suitably qualified Operations Manager to oversee the effective running of our NAWMA municipal waste contract, based in the Edinburgh area of Adelaide SA, which commences 1st September, 2025.
This is a challenging position in a busy environment, providing an essential service to the community. You will have responsibility for the excellent service provision required by our Council partners and customers.
The role has accountability for the performance of the NAWMA Municipal Contract, collecting household waste across a wide region in Northern Adelaide. You will be responsible for the direct management of an Operational team, consisting of three Leading Hands, approximately 40 drivers, and an Administration staff member. You will be expected to hit the ground running, coordinating the recruitment of a team of drivers, ready for contract start up. Ably supported by the SA Branch Manager, you will be guided and supported by an experienced company leadership group as you learn the business.

To be successful in this role you must:
Have the ability to communicate effectively;
Be a team leader and be able to build a cohesive unit around you;
Possess the ability to respond promptly and appropriately to resolve issues;
Be able to work autonomously;
Be willing to adhere to company standards;
Lead by example and take initiative for action;
Experience in the waste industry will be highly regarded, as would a current HR truck licence.
