Your next career opportunity 
As a Research Development Coordinator, you will spearhead the identification and promotion of research funding opportunities, focusing on HERDC Categories 2 and 3. You will collaborate with academic staff to develop competitive proposals, manage funding applications, and ensure compliance with policies. This role offers you the chance to work within a high-performing team, contribute to the Faculty's research strategy, and engage with diverse stakeholders to drive research excellence.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Funding Identification and Promotion: Target domestic and international research funding opportunities, supporting HERDC Categories 2 and 3.
  • Develop Competitive Applications: Provide specialist advice and support to academic staff, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Manage Contracts and Projects: Draft and negotiate contracts, set up funded projects, and liaise with external partners.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Use data to draft reports, briefings, and presentations, supporting strategic decision-making.

You are a strategic thinker with a background in humanities or social sciences, possessing excellent communication skills and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders while driving research funding success.

You may also:

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in humanities or social sciences with relevant experience.
  • Have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach.
  • Demonstrate high-level communication skills, capable of transforming concepts into proposals.
  • Exhibit autonomy and teamwork abilities, managing shifting deadlines effectively.
  • Be service-oriented, managing stakeholders and collaborating across organisational boundaries.

Your new team – The Research Office, Arts
The Research Office enables the Faculty of Arts' strategic aim of achieving research excellence and impact. Led by the Faculty Research Manager and comprising approximately 15 staff, the team provides effective operational support and manages key research development projects. The team has capabilities spanning the full range of research development, with particular strengths in research funding, impact and collaboration. Reporting to the Research Development Manager, you will work closely with colleagues in the Research portfolio, Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) and senior academic staff including the Associate Dean Research (Arts).
