Our prestigious hotel is centrally located in Cairns City, offering 324 elegantly appointed rooms, 18 versatile meeting spaces, and Coco's Kitchen and Bar, where the menu highlights local fish, seafood, and premium regional produce. Bring your passion for cooking and creativity to our kitchen team as a Commis Chef, and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for every guest.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and driven Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Pullman Cairns International. This hands-on role is perfect for someone passionate about food, eager to grow, and ready to contribute to a dynamic and supportive culinary environment.

You'll work closely with senior chefs across a range of kitchen sections, preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring every plate reflects our commitment to excellence. With guidance and training, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to a fast-paced, high-standard culinary operation.

What You'll Do:

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes across à la carte, buffet, banqueting, and room service offerings
• Support mise-en-place and daily kitchen prep to ensure smooth service across all shifts
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, following all food safety and hygiene standards
• Receive hands-on mentorship from experienced chefs to build your technical skills and industry knowledge
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality meals for every guest
• Contribute ideas to menu development and improvements as your confidence and experience grow

You'll bring:

• Previous kitchen experience in a hotel or similar fast-paced environment is highly regarded

• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset to support a positive team environment
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• A proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to a high-performing culinary team
