About The Opportunity
Join the Murrumbidgee Local Health District as a
Trainee Medical Officer in General Practice, based at Corowa Health Service
. This is a unique opportunity to develop broad clinical skills while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

As part of your training, you will assess and manage patients across various departments under the supervision of experienced practitioners. You'll be involved in procedures, patient discharges, documentation, and communication with patients and families. You'll also contribute to teaching, supervision, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

This role offers a dynamic and challenging environment where you'll balance professional development with clinical responsibilities, all while making a meaningful impact in a regional community.

About You
You are a committed and compassionate medical professional who thrives in a collaborative team setting. You bring:

  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (limited, provisional, or general)
  • Enrolment in the Pre-Fellowship Program (PFP) and an offer of employment with a General Practice in Corowa, NSW
  • Postgraduate Year 3 or above with relevant clinical experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently within a supervised environment
  • A passion for lifelong learning, quality improvement, and patient safety
  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check and Aged Care Check (or willingness to obtain).

Selection Criteria

  • Current Registration: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia under either a limited, provisional or general registration
  • Be enrolled in the Pre-Fellowship Program (PFP) and an offer of employment with a general practice located in Corowa NSW
  • Are in a Postgraduate Year (PGY) 3 or above and have the necessary skills and experience to perform the role, with evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment
  • Adept ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team
  • Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and other members of the health care team
  • Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
