As a Marine / Inflatable Boat Builder with Surf Life Saving Queensland, you'll play a key role in bringing the boats that our lifesavers rely on to protect our beaches to life — from fabrication and assembly through to finishing, installation, and repair — ensuring every vessel meets the highest quality and safety standards. SLSQ are seeking 2 Marine / Inflatable Boat Builders to join our team based at our Mermaid Beach facility, working Monday to Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm.

What You'll Do:

  • Fabrication, assembly, and installation of inflatable boats and their components.
  • Perform routine repairs, maintenance, and restorations.
  • Inspect and test boats to ensure quality and safety compliance.

About You:

Essential

  • Current Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Competence using hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Desirable

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Knowledge of inflatable boat building materials and techniques.
