Position Summary

As a Strategic Account Executive at JRNI, you will be responsible for acquiring new logos and driving the expansion of existing customers. Reporting to the SVP of Sales, you will focus on generating new business, managing a portfolio of high-value accounts, and increasing customer spend by identifying new opportunities and leveraging JRNI's solutions to help clients achieve their strategic goals. You will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders within enterprise accounts.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Prospect and develop new enterprise accounts by identifying key decision-makers and developing relationships across the organization.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and pain points, positioning JRNI's platform as a solutions provider to drive customer revenues and lower costs.
  • Execute effective outreach strategies to generate interest, schedule prospect meetings, and manage through the sales process to close new logo deals.

Account Expansion & Growth

  • Manage a portfolio of existing accounts with the goal of increasing customer spend through upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Develop account strategies that align with customer objectives and identify opportunities for expanding the use of JRNI's products within each account.
  • Build and nurture relationships with senior executives, understanding their evolving business needs and delivering tailored solutions to maximize value.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Collaborate with the SVP of Sales and sales leadership to define and execute strategic plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline, forecasting revenue and tracking key metrics to ensure quota attainment.
  • Lead complex sales cycles, managing the full sales process from prospecting to close while coordinating with internal teams (e.g., Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing) to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Partner with other teams within JRNI (including Product, Marketing, and Customer Success) to align customer needs with JRNI's product roadmap and marketing initiatives.
  • Share insights from the field with internal teams to help shape product offerings, marketing strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Work with the local delivery & implementations team in Australia to support and provide high-value service to new and existing customers.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in enterprise sales, with a proven track record of acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions, preferably in the customer engagement or related industries (e.g., marketing technology, CRM, retail tech).
  • Strong experience selling to senior-level decision-makers, including C-suite executives, with a deep understanding of their business needs.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to identify client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track and manage sales activity and pipeline.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Travel

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time within assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in new customer acquisition and effective pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with customer engagement, appointment scheduling, or event management technology.
  • Ability to navigate complex sales processes in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience in the financial services or retail industries is a plus.
