An established mid-tier advisory firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join its growing accounting division in the Melbourne CBD.

As a well established traditional accounting team, this role would suit someone who thrives in a focused, high-output environment. You'll be trusted to work autonomously, manage a steady volume of tax returns across varied entity types, and eventually support junior staff review as you demonstrate output and accuracy.

This role is designed for someone who values
stability, structure, and the chance to own their space
— no sales, no BD targets, just pure accounting.

The Role

  • Prepare and lodge individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns
  • Respond to client queries with clarity and professionalism
  • Meet performance KPIs, including tax return output equal to 3x salary
  • Ensure ATO compliance and internal policy adherence
  • Liaise with SMSF admin team to support client documentation
  • Begin taking on staff review responsibilities over time

About You

  • CA or CPA qualified (ideal)
  • 8–10 years' public practice experience, specialising in tax
  • Proficient with MYOB essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys quiet, focused work environments
  • High attention to detail and a self-motivated work ethic
