About the Role

As our Product Manager, you'll be instrumental in driving Zimi's growth in the dynamic smart home technology space. Working directly with our CEO, you'll take ownership of our product portfolio roadmap, manage the evolution of our Matter product range, and spearhead customer engagement initiatives that position Zimi at the forefront of smart home innovation.

What You'll Do

Smart Home Portfolio Strategy:

• Develop and manage comprehensive product portfolio roadmaps focused on Matter technology and smart home ecosystems
• Lead the expansion of our Matter-enabled product portfolio, ensuring compatibility across all major platforms
• Coordinate customer and factory order scheduling for complex smart home product launches
• Stay ahead of emerging smart home trends, protocols, and consumer demands

Technical Documentation & Standards:

• Maintain product documentation including Matter compatibility specifications, technical data sheets, compliance certificates, and user guides
• Ensure all products meet Matter Connectivity Standards and relevant Australian regulations (ACMA, electrical safety)
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for smart home installers, retailers, and end users through distribution partner channels
• Manage product certification processes for multiple smart home ecosystems
• Provide technical support materials to distribution partners for their sales and marketing activities

Customer & Partner Engagement:

• Support CEO in strategic relationships with key distribution partners and major retail channels
• Manage innovative product rollouts through distribution partners including smart home showroom displays, builder demonstration homes, and technology experience centers
• Execute customer strategy initiatives working with distribution partners to reach major retailers, smart home integrators, and building industry partners
• Provide national support for partner programs, coordinating with distribution partners on platform provider relationships (Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung)

Innovation & Market Leadership:

• Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies in smart home, IoT, and Matter ecosystems
• Collaborate with engineering teams on next-generation product development
• Support strategic planning for new market opportunities and technology partnerships
• Drive thought leadership initiatives within the Australian smart home industry

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background:

• Minimum 5 years product management experience, preferably in consumer electronics, IoT, smart home, lighting control, home automation, or technology hardware
• Proven experience with connected devices, wireless technologies, or smart home ecosystems
• Understanding of Matter protocol, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, or other smart home connectivity standards
• Experience managing technical product portfolios from concept through market delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or related field
• Experience with Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave, or other smart home protocols
• Knowledge of Australian retail landscape and building industry distribution channels
• Experience with major smart home platforms (HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings)
• Background in consumer electronics manufacturing or product certification
• Experience working with distribution partners and channel management
• Understanding of electrical plans and project documentation for smart home installations
