Job Description:

We're looking for an innovative Platform Architects to join our new Platform Architecture team. This isn't just a DevOps role; you'll be a key architect of our future platform engineering ecosystem. Your mission is to build and scale the foundational services and infrastructure that empower our engineering teams to ship software faster, more reliably, and with greater autonomy. You'll be instrumental in breaking down silos by creating a unified Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that standardizes tooling, automates infrastructure, and champions a culture of "you build it, you own it."

Essential Functions:

Architect & Build Golden Paths: Design, build, and maintain paved roads for our engineering teams. You'll create reusable, self-service infrastructure patterns, MLOps platforms, advanced CI/CD systems, and observability dashboards that make the right way the easy way.Champion Platform-as-a-Product: Treat our internal platform as a product. You'll engage with your customers—our developers—to understand their pain points, gather requirements, and build solutions that enhance their velocity and overall experience. Drive DevOps & SRE Culture: Lead the cultural shift towards modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. You will mentor teams on best practices for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, and security, fostering a collaborative environment.Automate Everything: Develop and manage our core platform pipelines and infrastructure using IaC tools like OpenTofu and Pulumi. You will drive automation across all stages of the platform lifecycle, from build and test to deployment and monitoring. Evolve our Cloud & Container Ecosystem: Manage and optimize our multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes). You'll ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and cost-effective using cutting-edge, cloud native technologies.Document for Scale: Create high-quality documentation for our platform's architecture, standards, and user guides. Clear documentation is key to enabling self-service and breaking down knowledge silos.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Containerization & Kubernetes – Strong understanding of systems for container based deployments, including Azure AKS / AWS EKS, as well as various hybrid cloud deployment distributions like Redhat Openshift, SuSE Rancher, k3s, k0s. Underlying container technologies such as the OCI format, Docker/podman runtimes, etc.Extensive experience engaging directly with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable, high-impact business solutions.Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, effectively influencing at all levels of the organization to drive alignment and adoption in modern technologies.Demonstrated success in delivering and supporting enterprise-wide infrastructure and orchestration initiatives with measurable business outcomes.Cloud Architecture & Governance – Strong understanding of cloud-native operating models and platform governance frameworks, including infrastructure-as-code, policy enforcement, and multi-tenant infrastructure at scaleAI/ML integration experience – Experience embedding AI/ML workloads into hybrid cloud platforms, including intelligent data pipelines, automating anomaly detection, or supporting inference platforms- especially in environments with unstructured data or real-time decision making requirements.Large Enterprise Systems & Process Familiarity - deep familiarity with enterprise-scale business processes in complex environments such as L3Harris or similar organizations.Proven delivery experience – ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining quality standards, balancing delivery velocity with architectural integrity and cross-functional alignment.Technical Leadership & Communication – exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a track record of analytical problem-solving and the ability to lead initiatives both independently and collaboratively.Data Platform Proficiency – understanding of SQL and other enterprise database systems, including document stores and modern replacements such as DocumentDB/MongoDB.ITSM & Workflow Automation Experience - working knowledge of ServiceNow, including access control, change and release management workflows.Certifications & Continuous Improvement – holds or actively pursues relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD or equivalents in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security domains.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $119,500-$222,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $104,000-$193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
