Data Analyst – Early Career / Cybersecurity Stream

We're looking for a proactive Data Analyst with a foundational analytical mindset and a keen interest in cybersecurity. In this role, you'll be key to transforming raw security and operational data into clear, actionable insights that drive both business performance and our security posture.

You will work as part of a supportive team, collaborating closely with Senior Analysts, Security, and IT to standardise reporting, uncover anomalies, and make complex information easy to understand for stakeholders.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence role who is eager to launch a career in the high-demand cybersecurity space.

What you'll do

  • Collect, clean, and analyse datasets with a focus on core security events, business trends, and operational metrics under guidance.
  • Build and maintain standard dashboards and reports (primarily using Power BI, or similar tools) for business and security stakeholders.
  • Assist in translating security and log data into meaningful insights for daily operations and decision-making.
  • Support the security and IT teams by providing data during incident response and threat analysis.
  • Contribute to data preparation for compliance and reporting requirements

What you bring (2-3 Years Experience)

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools (Power BI).
  • Fundamental understanding of data governance, security, and privacy concepts.
  • Familiarity with foundational security data sources (e.g., firewall logs, basic network data, or application logs).
  • Experience with Excel/spreadsheets for ad-hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills—able to ask clarifying questions and present findings clearly.
  • A collaborative and self-motivated approach, with a desire to learn new security domains quickly.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation or simple statistical analysis.
  • Exposure to formal cybersecurity data sources like SIEM logs or threat intelligence feeds.
  • Any experience or coursework in cloud security analytics (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • A basic knowledge of threat detection, vulnerability management, or incident response processes.
