Looking for something different? We are currently seeking an Industrial Nurse providing care to workers in the resources industry. You will provide support and healthcare services to our client's employees, keeping them healthy and safe while aiming to reduce workplace injuries. This role includes providing emergency response and primary healthcare to site personnel.

We are looking for casuals to join our casual pool for relief coverage.

About the role

  • Provide initial emergency response, stabilisation, and transportation / medevac of critically ill or injured patients.
  • Provide primary health care and treatment of non-emergency medical conditions.
  • Participate in HSE activities, tasks and training.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Team education, training, and procedure development.
  • Design, implementation and delivery of onsite training and health awareness packages.
  • Coordinate and deliver onsite drug and alcohol testing.
  • General clinic administration management and reporting duties.

About you

  • Current AHPRA Registration (Unrestricted);
  • Evidence of 3 years relevant experience working in an Emergency or General Practice environment;
  • Driver's License C Class (Manual);
  • Advanced Life Support Course (ALS) or ACLS or willing to obtain;
  • Authorised Drug Collection Officer or willing to obtain;
  • Proficient computer skills for operational duties;

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the provision of general primary healthcare in a non-hospital environment in a remote environment;
  • A well-developed knowledge of, and experience in the application of Emergency Response Services within the mining sector or equivalent environment.
  • Experience in return-to-work programs and mental health support;
  • Cert IV TAE;
  • Competent to provide immunisations and vaccinations – Current certificate of completion for "Health Immunisation Update" preferable;
  • Fitness to work (FTW) assessments;
  • Rehabilitation and return to work (RTW);
  • Health promotion and wellness experience.

About Us

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.
