Active Skip Bins has grown fast and now needs a hands-on Operations Manager to run the day-to-day, lift standards, and make the moving parts work smarter. If you've been around the block—comfortable with trucks, people, and numbers—and you like running a practical operation while thinking commercially, this is for you. About You

You're a calm, capable operator who can set a plan and make it happen. You speak the language of drivers and admin, and you also think in margins, utilisation and risk. You'll jump in where needed (even a truck on occasion), make clear calls, tidy up processes, and keep customers and owners informed—without fuss. You're a managerial operator (not an administrator) who brings structure and accountability without red tape.

Your New Role

You'll lead daily operations—drivers and a part-time admin, scheduling and service quality, fleet/bin readiness, and team standards. You'll keep Bin Manager as the source of truth, ensure clean data flows to MYOB, and represent the owners' standards in the community.

Role Requirements

• Hands-on operations leadership in transport/logistics/waste/trades
• Confident scheduler and problem-solver; decisive and calm under pressure
• Minimum MR licence required; comfortable as a stand-by driver when required
• Coordinate minor mechanical fixes; manage suppliers for servicing/repairs
• Strong MS Office/Excel; confident with ops/job systems (Bin Manager or similar) and MYOB basics
• Clear, respectful communicator aligned to a professional, non-smoking workplace
• Bundaberg-based (or willing to relocate)

Key Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Leading small field teams and an office coordinator/admin
• WHS mindset with practical compliance follow-through
• Customer phone handling; quotes and tender monitoring
• Process improvement and simple reporting; solid commercial judgment

Key Areas of Responsibility
Operational Oversight & Scheduling

Purpose: Keep daily jobs safe, on time and profitable.

• Responsibilities: Own schedules and driver coordination in Bin Manager; handle live changes and customer calls; stand-by drive if needed; close the day cleanly and set up tomorrow.

Fleet & Asset Management (Trucks & Bins)

Purpose: Keep trucks/bins compliant, available and presentable.

• Responsibilities: Plan services/repairs; coordinate minor fixes; manage bin condition (paint/stencils/stickers); action driver fault reports; track uptime and compliance.

Customer Experience, Quotes & Tenders

Purpose: Keep customers happy and grow quality work while protecting margin.

• Responsibilities: Oversee bookings quality and response; prepare quotes within pricing parameters; monitor relevant tender opportunities; maintain key client touchpoints.

People Leadership, HR & WHS Compliance

Purpose: Build a safe, accountable, motivated team.

• Responsibilities: Lead drivers and admin; toolbox/1:1s; onboarding and coaching; uphold conduct (non-smoking, professional); manage incidents and corrective actions.

Systems, Data & Administration Efficiency (Bin Manager ? MYOB)

Purpose: Make information flow accurate, timely and low-touch.

• Responsibilities: Keep Bin Manager the source of truth; ensure clean exports to MYOB; reduce double-handling; provide a simple weekly ops snapshot for the owners.

Commercial Discipline & Cost Control

Purpose: Protect margins through utilisation and sensible cost control.

• Responsibilities: Apply pricing parameters; monitor utilisation, dump and fuel costs; recommend route/load efficiencies; support quarterly pricing reviews.
