Riverland SA, Australia The Potential Ability Group Full time $77,241 - $86,938 per year

Required Hours: Various – Part-time and full-time opportunities available in the Riverland.

About Us:

We are an innovative, caring, and supportive Occupational Therapy practice servicing clients in metropolitan and rural South Australia, across the lifespan. We work hard, we love our team (and our clients) and there are plenty of perks to this role.

We are "committed to supporting ability" by encouraging participation in meaningful activities and providing a high quality, well informed, efficient, community-based therapy service for all. We live and breathe this in everything we do.

The Role:

So, what exactly will your purpose be in our current available role/s? As a Level 1 Occupational Therapist at The Potential Ability Group, you will be providing community based therapeutic support to predominantly children and young adults most of whom are funded by the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

What does this really mean? You will travel to a specified region and see clients during the day, complete your clinical notes and other relevant admin, enjoy the sunshine and views as you feel grateful not to be stuck in an office and of course, enjoy the satisfaction of undertaking meaningful work. You will have the benefit of working with a large and experienced group of Occupational Therapists who thrive on connection and are extremely passionate about the communities we support as well as the development of our next generation of OTs, so you will be expected to 'get your hands dirty' and speak up in clinical discussion, participate in meaningful reflection during supervision and join in with the silliness of all our team building activities.

Some of the Good Stuff (the list is longer than Santa's – but here's a few things):

  • We pay above the award, and you will be paid between $77,241-$86,938 (Full Time Equivalent) by us, based on your years of experience.
  • We provide you with a Surface Pro, and other benefits on top of your salary (+ we pay travel too).
  • $5k Loyalty & Retention Bonus.
  • Supervision is built into the fabric of the role; both formal and informal supervision is just part of how we practice.
  • Our team is awesome, inspiring, and fun – even if we say so ourselves
  • We have amazing administrative support so that you can focus on being an OT
  • We have dedicated team days and team dinners to ensure we stay connected.
  • We have paid Professional Development leave – we want to help you grow to be your best.
  • We have Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) opportunities.
  • We have weekly online OT meetings so we can all see each other's lovely faces and check in around what the week looks like, have robust clinical conversations, and support each other to provide exceptional Occupational Therapy supports to clients in the community
  • We have a daily self-care accrual – this means you can take a short, paid break each day for something like a walk or doing some yoga or you can accrue it and maybe take an afternoon off for a massage
  • We pride ourselves on supporting our team and are committed to helping you achieve your career goals at The Potential Ability Group.
  • We have structured pay increases related to performance reviews (so you will not ever have to have 'that' awkward conversation).
  • We offer other incentives which can be discussed at the interview (betcha curious now)

Things You Should Know Up Front:

  • You will be travelling and working from various locations in the Riverland, e.g., client's home or school – in general your days starts at the arrival of your first client. This is not for everyone. If you love to hang out in the communal kitchen having a coffee and chatting with your co-workers, this role is probably not for you. We work this way to deliver services in the environment the client is facing the challenge – makes sense, don't you think?
  • You will need a reliable vehicle and driver's license – and if you love to sing when you drive… your favourite tunes are a must
  • We are flexible and can negotiate FTE for the right candidate(s).
  • We are a client-based service with a focus on service improvement always at the forefront – the role requires you to be upbeat, quick thinking and supportive. Oh, and a team player, but we figure you are a smart cookie and already know that.

What You Need to be Successful in the Role:

  • The ability to provide high quality service to clients and maintain strong relationships.
  • To be a case management administration star; ensuring all administration/case files and notes are accurately completed within agree timeframes.
  • Consistent positive professional communication and consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to and consistent use of The Potential Ability Group processes and systems.
  • Become an effective member of the team and upholding The Potential Ability Group values (Building Strong Relationships, Work / Life Balance, and Evolving Potential).

Some of the Things You Will Achieve in the Role:

  • Complete assessments, evaluations and intensives as requested.
  • Plan effective and achievable occupational therapy programs and provide appropriate treatments and instructions to an allocated caseload of clients showing appropriate preparation including evidence of applied clinical reasoning.
  • Recommend changes in clients' usual environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholder to support our clients' best interests.
  • Treat all clients with respect and be responsive to their needs.
  • Promote cultural safety by acknowledging and valuing the cultural needs of each family/community.
  • Participate in activities to increase the understanding and awareness of the role and scope of practice of OT and The Potential Ability Group.

What You Need to Know or Have:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge in the provision of a variety of occupational therapy interventions across the lifespan.
  • Registration with AHPRA at the time your employment commences.
  • Must have/be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Check and relevant DCSI/DHS clearances as appropriate to the clients you will work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of privacy legislation and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Completed or willing to complete the NDIS Worker module, 'Quality, Safety and You'.
  • Completed or willing to complete the NDIS Worker module, 'Supporting Effective Communication'.
  • You must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and supply a vaccination certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail, good initiative and all the sensible things (this is a given but again, a key to this role).

How to Apply:

We want to get you into this role as soon as possible – so send us an email with a paragraph as to why you would be an asset to TPAG (it's a lot easier to say our company name this way) along with a PDF of your resume.

To discuss this amazing role in detail or request a detailed job description please call and ask for Laura. No agencies please.

Applications close 5pm, November 14th.
