The School of Science
The School of Science has a strong track record of excellence in teaching and research in our two disciplines: Computing and Security/Science and Mathematics. Within the Computing and Security discipline area, our activities orient around Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology and Security Science. We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have active research programs specifically oriented around Cyber Security and AI/Machine Learning. The discipline is based at the Joondalup campus of ECU with the new City Campus activating in 2026.

Research that Shapes the Future
Our courses are powered by an active research program, much of it aligned with the CSDF, which is internationally recognised for industry-driven research. The Centre focusses on three critical pillars:
Securing critical infrastructure;
Harnessing emerging technologies;
Understanding the human factors of security.
About you
We are seeking a motivated academic to directly support our cyber security education portfolio. This is an exceptional opportunity to pursue teaching and research in a field of global strategic importance. And to become a leader not only at ECU, but across Australia and internationally.
Applicants should have:
Strong technical cyber security expertise in areas such as network security, ethical hacking, cloud security, identity management, SOC/SIEM operations;
Research interests aligned with at least one of the CSDF priority areas;
At least two years of post-PhD academic experience, including teaching and learning responsibilities;
A proven research track record commensurate with the level of appointment;
Demonstrable research trajectory suitable for Future Fellowship applications as part of your research growth plan.
