NORFOLK ISLAND HEALTH AND RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE SERVICE (NIHRACS)

NIHRACS is a multi-purpose service committed to the delivery of excellence in care: For our community, By our People, With our Partners.

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate senior Registered Nurses to join our Aged Care Team in a remote island location. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide exemplary nursing care to NIHRACS facility residents while embracing the values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. The Registered Nurse will support best practice and ensure a safe environment for residents, patients and workers within the facility.

As a member of a values-driven healthcare team, you will play an essential role in improving the health outcomes of individuals in the community, building meaningful relationships with patients and residents, and fostering a culture of care and compassion.

Key Responsibilities and attributes:

• Responsible for planning and implementation of holistic, high quality, evidence-based nursing care for residents within a residential aged care setting.
• Work as a team to support the delivery of excellence in care, liaising with multidisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Ensuring practice is in line with AHPRA Scope of Clinical Practice including ongoing professional development.
• Advocate for patient rights and access to quality care.
• Participate in audits and research to improve healthcare services. Advocate for best practice in alignment with the NSQHS standards. Assist the leadership team in the development of policies and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality, and continuous improvement principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these.
• Recognise and respect the cultural diversity of the community, adapting healthcare practices to meet the specific needs and preferences of patients.
• Possesses basic computer literacy, knowledge of health information systems and Office 365 applications.

Selection Criteria:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in residential aged care(rural or remote experience desirable).
• Demonstrated ability to work in culturally diverse communities and adapt care approaches to the local population's values, customs, and healthcare beliefs.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team environment and to adapt to changing needs and conditions in a remote setting.

Remuneration: RN will be paid as NRG Grade 5 under the NIHRACS Enterprise Agreement. An indicative range of base remuneration is $3,171.89 to $4,068.50 Per fortnight.
