OVERVIEW

PURPOSE
As a Business Manager in our consumer practice, you'll be responsible for key client relationships, leading teams to deliver consumer media campaigns, maintaining relationships with top tier consumer and lifestyle media, online influencers, and key opinion leaders, thinking strategically and creatively on behalf of global clients, and new business initiatives.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively build and manage strong relationships with key consumer media contacts, ensuring consistent and quality coverage for clients.
- Collaborate with senior team members to develop strategic consumer PR campaigns, and oversee their execution across multiple channels.
- Craft and deliver compelling media pitches, coordinate product placements, and manage follow-ups to secure impactful media opportunities.
- Independently write and review press releases, media alerts, and briefing documents, ensuring alignment with brand tone and messaging.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, leading meetings, providing strategic counsel, and managing day-to-day communications.
- Oversee media monitoring and reporting, delivering clear insights and recommendations based on campaign performance.
- Stay ahead of consumer trends, media shifts, and cultural moments to inform campaign strategy and creative ideation.
- Work closely with junior team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality output and professional growth.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years experience in consumer media relations, with at least two years in an account management role
- A proven track record in leading account teams to deliver effective consumer campaigns
- Experience in driving successful new business initiatives
- Solid contacts within the consumer and lifestyle media space in Australia, and well-developed skills in building and maintaining traditional and digital media relationships. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required
- Excellent writing, reporting and presentation skills
- Experience executing social media campaigns including a solid understanding of Facebook and Twitter
- Experience in project planning and event management
- Previous agency experience in FMCG, lifestyle, food or consumer technology is highly desired
