Myndshift Group have been engaged by our client partner a leading mining & civil contractor committed to sustainable resource development and land rehabilitation. With a proven track record across Australia's mining regions, we are now seeking an experienced Safety & Training Advisor to help support a high-profile mine rehabilitation project in Moranbah and drive a strong safety culture and support legislative compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with leaders to implement and continuously improve health & safety processes, including risk assessments, audits, inspections, hazard reporting, accident/incident investigations, work access permits, and behavioural safety observations.
  • Conducting and supporting safety meetings, site inspections, and other activities to reinforce safety standards.
  • Supporting Supervisors to ensure employees comply with the site's Health Management System and relevant legislation.
  • Contributing to safety investigations by reviewing reports and ensuring robust corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.
  • Providing clear and consistent communication with stakeholders - from management to frontline employees - regarding safety obligations, plans, and performance improvement.
  • Driving targeted safety improvement projects in response to incident findings, workforce feedback, and business needs.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational/Workplace Health & Safety
  • Formal Incident Investigation qualifications
  • RIIRIS402D - Carry out the risk management processes and demonstrated experience in risk assessment facilitation
  • Workplace drug and alcohol testing accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of QLD Coal WHS legislation
  • Proven experience in driving safety culture improvements
  • Previous experience in mining (preferably open-cut) or heavy industry environments
  • Working knowledge of contractor compliance platforms -Intelics (Desirable)
  • Current Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical
