As the Team Leader - Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the AR team, ensuring accurate and timely collection of receivables, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also play a key role in developing and mentoring your team, driving process improvements, and supporting financial reporting and compliance. 

Key responsibilities:  

    • Mentor, coach, and support a team of 6 Accounts Receivable professionals.
  • Full Accounts Receivable management including but not limited to:
  • Oversee the billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to customers.
  • Monitor and analyse aging reports with commentary; proactively reduce outstanding receivables.
  • Provide regular updates on aging, high-risk accounts, and collection efforts.
  • Negotiate and manage customer payment plans where necessary.
  • Follow up with customers on overdue payments and resolve any billing discrepancies.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate and send customer invoices and statements in accordance with established billing cycles.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Key requirements:  

  • Certificate, Diploma in Accounting/Book-keeping, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or similar finance roles.
  • Proven experience in managing a team
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, financial principles, and reconciliation practices.
  • Proficiency in financial/ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in resolving account or payment issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations, internal controls, and compliance standards.
  • Team-oriented, with a proactive and collaborative approach to leadership and continuous improvement.
