About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity as a Procurement Officer to join our Maritime business based in Adelaide. This is a fixed term position until 31st May 2026.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight
As a Procurement Officer you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement activities including material and services procurement ensuring that best value is obtained for the business while balancing costs, supplier risk, quality, schedule and maintaining effective relationships and engaging with key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Aid the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
- Support the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business
- Support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business
- Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant KPIs
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority
About YOU
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
- Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers.
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
- Previous experience with Aveva and/or Oracle will be highly regarded.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
