Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and manage infrastructure across a multi-cloud environment, including AWS and GCP. This hands-on role is centred around Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, and Cost Efficiency. You will apply your expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), observability, and cloud governance to maintain resilient, secure, and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Build, manage, and optimise cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and the Serverless Framework.

· Own and deliver non-functional requirements (NFRs) such as observability, availability, scalability, and security across roadmap items.

· Provide architectural guidance to engineering squads to ensure high availability and best practices.

· Maintain full visibility of infrastructure costs and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.

· Conduct periodic reviews of infrastructure using the AWS Well-Architected Framework, identifying and addressing gaps or risks.

· Ensure visibility and monitoring of infrastructure at the Account, Project, and Service levels by creating and maintaining CloudWatch dashboards and other observability tooling.

· Participate in governance forums and contribute to decision-making in areas such as cloud best practices and security compliance.

· Identify, document, and communicate infrastructure-related risks to key stakeholders.

· Recommend and implement security best practices aligned with frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27000.

· Monitor and secure infrastructure through proactive CVE reviews, vulnerability scans, and insights from tools like Intruder, Cloudability, and CloudWatch.

· Manage Page, Cache, and Firewall rules across AWS, Cloudflare, and GCP to safeguard systems against malicious activity.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential Skills

· Bachelor's degree in Computing, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· 5+ years of experience working with virtualised cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.

· 3+ years of experience supporting Linux/Unix systems, networking, and application servers.

· Advanced scripting proficiency in at least one language (e.g., Python or ).

· Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools including Terraform and Serverless Framework.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

· A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and within a team.

Nice-to-Have Skills

· Experience managing distributed or containerised environments using services such as SQS, ECS Fargate, and RDS Serverless.

· Experience with cost optimisation, budgeting, and reservations in AWS or GCP.

· Familiarity with SIEM tools and security frameworks like NIST.

· Experience maintaining cache and firewall rules across AWS and Cloudflare.
