At our core, RSL LifeCare provides care and services to veterans and seniors who live in our communities or are receiving support at home. Our vision of creating proud communities living their best lives is at the heart of everything we do as we continue to build upon our legacy of supporting veterans and their families for more than 100 years.
This is an opportunity for you to join a large social purpose organisation where your skills and compassion will be valued and enable you to make a meaningful difference to people's lives.
We're currently looking for a Communications Officer to join our team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our storytelling and engagement efforts, from crafting compelling internal communications to shaping our public voice, you'll work across multiple channels to connect with our people, communities, and stakeholders.
You'll be a key driver in ensuring our brand voice is consistent, impactful, and deeply aligned with our purpose - whether that's writing for our internal intranet, scripting videos, or supporting events and community campaigns for our seniors and veterans.

- Ensure brand consistency and uphold RSL LifeCare's reputation in all communications
- Monitor communication effectiveness and recommend improvements based on analytics and feedback
You're a storyteller at heart, with a knack for connecting people to purpose. You thrive in a busy, collaborative environment and can switch easily between strategic planning and hands-on content creation. To be successful in this role we'd expect you to have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, PR, Journalism, or similar.
- 5+ years in a communications role, not-for-profit, health, or aged care experience
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Experience delivering internal communications and managing multi-channel content
- Proficiency in video production - scripting, filming, and editing
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- A genuine respect for veterans and seniors
- Skills in Canva, FLIP and Swift Digital
Benefits of working with RSL LifeCare:
- Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year. This allows you to reduce your taxable income by receiving part of your salary as tax-free benefits like super contributions, car leasing, and more.

- Fitness Passport
- Leave Loading: 17.5% pay top up on paid leave
Our commitment to diversity: We are proud to stand for our unique values: Do the Right Thing, Aim Higher, Care from the Heart, and Act as One team.
We welcome and encourage applications from people across our diverse community, especially from Veterans, current serving ADF personnel, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, valued and heard regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.
It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
