The Opportunity
As part of the Risk & Governance division within La Trobe Financial your primary function will be to assist in providing independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve operations.
The role entails bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. In addition to this, you will lead and mentor the Assurance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent and objective assurance over the key business processes;
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reporting to the relevant management and board committees;
- Carry out assurance activities performed in hindsight reviews of loan files and compliance reviews;
- Assist in the preparation of a risk based strategic Assurance plan;
- Delegate and monitor work allocated to staff;
- Review, provide feedback and mentor staff;
- Carry out ad hoc inspections, investigations, reviews or validations as requested by management and report on findings; and
- Carry out cyclical reviews as details in the relevant Compliance Plans.
About You
- 3-5 years' experience within the Banking/Financial Services Industry and in an Assurance/Compliance/Audit or Risk Management role in a professional services firm.
- Strong organisational, time management and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Strong administration and attention to detail.
- Excellent report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
