Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia Terras Landscape Architects Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Looking for more than just a job? How about a lifestyle change.

Terras Landscape Architects is offering the rare opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a vibrant coastal city that combines the perks of urban life with a relaxed beachside lifestyle. Based in Newcastle, NSW, we're just a walk from the sand — and light years away from the grind of big city traffic.

We're an established and award-winning practice delivering many of the Hunter Region's most significant landscape and urban design projects. From the revitalisation of Newcastle's coastal foreshore to landmark developments like Trinity Point Resort, our work is shaping the region — and getting recognised for it (including the 2023 AILA NSW Award for Regional Achievement - AILA 2025 NSW Education Award).

Why Join Terras?
  • Established studio with a strong reputation and exciting pipeline of projects
  • Be part of a tight-knit team of 15 within a larger architectural studio of 70+ architects — offering collaboration and exposure to large urban design projects
  • Opportunity to lead and grow within the company, with mentorship from experienced Directors
  • Beachside living without sacrificing your career
  • Supportive, design-focused culture where your ideas and initiative are valued
Who We're Looking For

Must have experience. We're seeking a mid-level Landscape Architect (minimum 2-3 years' experience) who's ready to take the next step — someone confident managing projects, liaising with clients, and producing great design outcomes.

You should be motivated, creative, technically skilled, and excited to contribute to real, regional change.

Your Responsibilities
  • Contribute to all phases of design, from concept to documentation
  • Prepare compelling presentations and documentation packages
  • Work directly with clients, consultants and team members
  • Collaborate with Directors while maintaining a level of independence
Key Skills
  • Strong documentation skills (Vectorworks preferred, or AutoCAD/Adobe)
  • Excellent graphic and hand-drawing abilities
  • Artistic design flair and a sharp eye for detail
  • Confident communication and presentation skills
  • Specification writing experience
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (or higher)
  • AILA registration preferred (or working towards)
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident

Ready to bring your skills to the coast?

Check out our work at and send us your CV and portfolio.

Let's shape the future of the region — together.
