Brightstar Resources (ASX: BTR) owns and operates the established Second Fortune Gold Mine and the newly launched Fish mine in the Laverton Goldfields region of Western Australia. To support our expanding operations, we are seeking applications from experienced Mine Emergency Services Officers (MESO) to contribute to the uncompromised delivery of emergency response capabilities.

As a Mine Emergency Services Officers (MESO) you will build strong partnerships with local managers and employees to embed safety initiatives. You will:

The Role:

Reporting to the Underground Manager, you will play a vital role in providing a professional approach to emergency services, training and compliance with OHS systems and procedures. This role would ideally suit someone who has previously worked underground in various roles and can train and pass out personnel in various job roles. Other duties include:

  • Provide prompt, professional patient care to unjured workers, ensuring injury management and return to work processes are followed and all associated medical certificate are obtained and retained on file
  • Emergency Response preparedness - ensuring all emergency response equipment is inspected and maintained and in a state of readiness in the event of an emergency
  • Train the Emergency response team in all emergency response disciplines, raise non-compliance to training or inadequateERT member numbers to SSE
  • Delivering general safety induction, underground safety induction and other site inductions and training
  • Assist in developing and updating proceduresand processes

As an experienced Mine Emergency Services Officers (MESO) you will require:

  • Cert 111 In Mine Emergency Response (surface and underground)
  • Certificate IV in healthcare/ambulance (minumum)
  • A current National Police Clearance
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian driver's license
