Travel to site, conferences, client offices may be required from time to time. About the Role: Due to our unprecedented growth, Grid-Link is seeking experienced Commissioning engineers and Commissioning Testers to join our Engineering & Commissioning Team. In this role you will be working on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects including brownfield and greenfield HV substations as well as utility scale renewable projects. This role provides a unique opportunity to get involved in the commissioning as well as the upfront engineering, GPS development and AEMO approval process. The candidates will be working closely with our project development and engineering teams as well as external stakeholders (clients/TNSPs/AEMO/OEMs). These roles will be mainly based out of our Melbourne office, the candidate will be required to travel to project sites across Australia as per the specific project requirements. Role requirements: • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Advance Diploma in Power Systems. • Experience (>3 years) in utility substations and or solar farms testing and commissioning. • Good understanding of power system fundamentals, electric power transmission and distribution systems, protection, and control systems in substations and solar farms. • Experienced in the entire commissioning process for HV substations and large-scale solar farms. • Expertise in developing project commissioning plans, commissioning schedules and I• Proven experience in safe and secure energisation of electrical assets in greenfield and brownfield environments (preferably in Australia). • Relevant testing authorities for Ausnet, Transgrid, Electranet or Powerlink are desirable. • Development and management of FAT and SAT plans and schedules. • Proficiency in the testing of advanced protection schemes such as line distance, transformer differential, CB management, etc. using Omicron & Doble test sets. • Expertise in the testing of substation primary equipment – CB/CT/CVT/ Transformers etc. • Good understanding of SCADA & control systems and experience in signal testing for substation and solar farm assets. • Understanding of network connection and access rules, regulations and procedures, and AEMO's technical guidelines. • Experienced in solar, wind farm or BESS GPS compliance and R2 model validation testing (desirable). • Member of Engineers Australia or applying for membership (desirable). • Be able to work with multi-disciplinary teams. • Technical report writing skills with ability to present findings clearly. • Advanced communication and negotiation skills.
