About the role

Ruhil Care is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our team in the St Marys, Penrith and Cecil Park NSW area. As a Disability Support Worker at Ruhil Care, you will deliver a range of 'at home', 'in community' and 'day program' services to support our clients to live independently. Some of your duties will include:

  • Actively support participants to realise their personal aspirations
  • Provide practical, physical and behaviour management support as needed
  • Complete required administration, documentation and reporting.
  • Be compliant with Work Health and Safety (WH&S) and be responsible for ensuring standards are maintained.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Be compliant with codes, guidelines, policies, procedures & NDIS Commission Quality and Safety Standards

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Transferable skills in providing care and compassion to others
  • Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or similar caring role (minimum 6 months preferred, or demonstrated transferable skills)
  • Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle (essential)
  • Have flexibility to work on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes days, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts
  • Have a Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID0011) or willingness to obtain prior to commencing
  • Be willing to provide an NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) Clearance
  • Have the ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way
  • Have the capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks
  • Have good computer, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (doses 1, 2 and booster)
  • Certificate III in disability support or Individual Support (preferred but not essential for the right candidate)
