Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA) is an independent, non-profit organisation with its head office located near North Sydney. We are the world's largest treatment and research centre with a single focus on melanoma, and our mission is to reach zero deaths from melanoma this decade.
MIA is seeking a Program Officer to join the Roadmap Operations Team that is supporting the development of the Roadmap for a National Targeted Skin Cancer Screening Program. This is an Australian Government-funded 3.5-year program of evidence synthesis and targeted research into skin cancer screening led by the Melanoma Institute Australia in close consultation with Cancer Australia, Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and the broader skin cancer sector.
We are looking for an individual with experience in a research environment, good project management and organisational skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This position will support the Program Manager, Program Lead and Roadmap Operations Team to successfully deliver the Roadmap. The Program Officer will assist the Roadmap Operations team in the co-ordination, development and drafting of materials and reports for projects and initiatives being undertaken across the Workstreams of the Roadmap Program. This will include helping to develop research briefs and tender documents; liaising with external research providers and collaborators about the direction and progress of Roadmap-funded projects; supporting research project teams to undertake appropriate consultation with Workstreams and Committees and deliver project reports and outputs in a timely manner; tracking projects and drafting Workstream progress reports and Activity Workplans in collaboration with the Program Manager and Workstream Chairs; and collating research data and literature into research reports for review by Workstreams and Committees.
The successful applicant will report to the Program Manager at the Melanoma Institute Australia and be based predominantly with the Melanoma and Skin Cancer team at the Daffodil Centre at The University of Sydney Camperdown campus, alongside the Program Manager and Roadmap Lead.
This is a unique opportunity to join a globally recognised research institute. You will also find immense satisfaction in joining a highly collaborative team that is making a very real difference to thousands of Australians, now and in the future.
Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be processed.
