Bellevue Hill, New South Wales, Australia The Scots College Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
The Heart of the Role

The Science Teacher (Physics) inspires curiosity, rigour, and wonder in the study of the natural world. Through engaging, evidence-based teaching, you will guide students to think critically, solve complex problems, and appreciate the principles that underpin our universe.

Working within the Science Faculty and under the guidance of the Head of Science, you will deliver high-quality Physics programs from Years 7–12, fostering both academic excellence and character development. You will help shape a learning environment where boys are challenged to inquire deeply, think creatively, and pursue their personal best.

At The Scots College, your work as a teacher goes beyond the classroom — you will contribute to a culture of scholarship, integrity, and Christian faith that prepares students to learn, lead, and serve with purpose.

Who are you?

You are an enthusiastic and skilled Physics educator with a deep passion for both your subject and your students.

You hold recognised teaching qualifications and registration with NESA, with the ability to teach Science from Years 7–10 and Physics at Stage 6 level.

You bring a love of learning and a proven ability to make complex concepts accessible, relevant, and inspiring for young minds.

You are committed to designing learning experiences that challenge high-achieving students while supporting diverse learning needs through differentiation and innovative pedagogy.

You communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering collaboration and mutual respect.

You are reflective, adaptable, and eager to grow through professional learning and engagement with emerging teaching practices.

You bring an authentic Christian faith that shapes your approach to teaching, relationships, and service.

Where do you fit in?

You are energised by the opportunity to serve within a Christian, Presbyterian GPS school committed to excellence in boys' education.

You thrive in a team environment where ideas are shared and curiosity is celebrated.

You are motivated by purpose — helping students not only master scientific principles but also develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

You see your role as both educator and mentor — guiding young men to explore how Physics connects to their world and to their responsibility as future leaders and innovators.

How do you serve others?

You design and deliver engaging, conceptually rich Physics lessons that foster deep understanding and practical inquiry.

You use data and feedback to refine teaching practice and ensure every student is supported to achieve growth.

You provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain open communication with students and parents to encourage partnership in learning.

You participate in the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs, modelling Christian character, curiosity, and servant leadership.

You contribute to the life of the Science Faculty through collaboration, resource development, and a shared pursuit of excellence.

What do we offer?

An opportunity to be part of a team committed to nurturing fine young men of faith, character, and purpose.

A dynamic and supportive environment where scholarship, innovation, and faith are integrated and celebrated.

Professional development opportunities to grow your expertise in Physics education and pedagogy.
