We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join us on a banking project at a large Australian financial institution to provide resources to their Calypso program. Calypso is a software application specializing in Capital Markets, Investment Management, Central Banking, Risk Management, Clearing, Collateral, Treasury and Liquidity.

Joining this program, you will have the benefit of working with an established client team, fully involved in the project initiation through to project implementation.

Responsibilities:

- Work in Agile teams to develop functionalities of the Calypso application using Java

- Own developments end-to-end from understanding requirements to unit testing and release

- Create, change and use relevant DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

- Interact and liaise with teams across various geographic locations

- Interact with Business and Operations users and resolve their queries

Mandatory Skills Description:

- Strong Java experience. At least 5 years is expected.

- Exposure to complex topics like coding for performance, multithreading

- Experience with Springboot, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle, ..

- Experience in developing Java APIs

- Good analytical skills, should be able to analyze and understand complex requirements

- Ability to write SQL queries and understand relational database concepts

- Good and effective communication skills

- Understanding of UNIX servers and commands

Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Calypso exposure (Capital Markets Technology) experience is very highly regarded.

- Other capital markets technology experience (Murex, FIS, Kondor, ...)

- Capital markets functional experience (especially FX, Commodities)
