The Data Test Lead will be responsible for leading the testing efforts for data-related projects, including data warehouses, ETL pipelines and analytics platforms. This role involves ensuring data quality, reliability, and accuracy by developing and executing comprehensive test strategies and plans. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data testing, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality data solutions

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Strategy:
• Develop and document test strategies, plans, and schedules for data testing projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and developers to understand requirements and define test cases.
• Test Execution:
• Perform data validation, data transformation, and reconciliation tests.
• Develop and execute automated and manual test cases to verify the quality of ETL processes, data integration, and reporting solutions.
• Validate data accuracy in source and target systems.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor a team of data testers, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Assign tasks, review work, and provide feedback to maintain high testing standards.
• Automation and Tooling:
• Identify opportunities for test automation and implement tools/scripts to enhance testing efficiency.
• Leverage SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for test automation and data validation.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Provide regular status updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed test reports and recommendations for improving data quality.

Essential:

• Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline.

Preferred:

• Good understanding of ITIL lifecycles and processes, ITIL certification

Additional Skills:

• Excellent customer interfacing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with offshore teams to facilitate project work
• Ability to gain an understanding of customer process and issues, and communicate them back
• Ability to drive Service Improvement programs and drive service quality improvements.
• Involve in training and knowledge management to lower level specialists.
• Analytical ability
• Planning and organizing – Optimally organize the workload across the team.
• Excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
