Early Childhood Teacher

Bardon Community Kindy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term contract from 19 January to 24 June 2026, covering a period of long service leave.

This is a part-time role (3 days per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).

About Bardon Kindy

Bardon Community Kindy is a non-profit community organisation that has had an important presence in the Bardon Community for over 70 years. We are affiliated with Lady Gowrie Qld with two units that each week provide a place for living and learning for 88 children.

We are situated in the heart of Bowman Park, along the banks of Ithaca Creek and our natural environment is a valued asset and focus within our program. Our children engage in authentic and emergent inquiry, work and play under the dappled light of our natural canopy.

We are committed to providing genuine and quality early childhood education and care that is delivered by our team of highly qualified and dedicated staff. We offer a kindergarten program that is rated as exceeding the national quality standard for children aged 3.5 years to school age in the year prior to starting Prep.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate early childhood teacher who brings a progressive mindset to all aspects of early childhood education within a high-quality learning environment.

This position includes above award wages, paid recess leave and the expectation to participate in staff meetings, as well as occasional evening or weekend events throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Work within the National Quality Framework, philosophy of the service, the EYLF V2.0 and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG).
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment that creates a sense of belonging and community within the program.
• Plan, implement and evaluate a program based on ongoing observation of the children and assessment of their individual strengths, experiences and interests.
• Foster positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with families, children, colleagues and the volunteer management committee.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent).
• Current First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma certificates.
• Current Blue Card/Working with Children Check.
• QLD Teacher Registration.
• Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
• A commitment to high-quality practice and ongoing professional growth.
