About the role

The position will require the occupant to undertake all duties associated with the safe driving of Council vehicles, minor plant and transport of persons, equipment and materials across all Public Spaces Maintenance service areas. The occupant will also assist with general labouring and other duties as directed by the Team Leader and Field Supervisor. The position will require knowledge and use of Mobility application/device and future technology enhancements.

Essential criteria

• Current Class C driver license
• Knowledge of all aspects of operation and maintenance of trucks, vans, ride-ons and trailers including loading, securing and unloading (both mechanical and manual means)
• Demonstrated experience in general labouring duties
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White) Card.

Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $$61, $70,681.00 per annum, and an Adverse Working Conditions Allowance in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, plus 12% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.

You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, in order to progress through the recruitment process.
