Transport Apprenticeship – Pathway to Heavy Combination (HC) Licence

Are you ready to take the first step into the transport industry? We are offering a unique opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Transport Apprentice. Over 24 months, you will gain hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and work towards earning your Heavy Combination (HC) driver licence, setting you up for a successful long-term career with MJ Mahon Transport.

What You will Do:

  • Assist experienced drivers with day-to-day transport operations.
  • Complete nationally recognised training in transport – Certificate III in Driving Operations.
  • Learn to operate , clean, and maintain several types of vehicles and equipment including having access to a fully maintained company utility vehicle during working hours.
  • Conduct minor vehicle Safety Inspections
  • Conduct minor mechanical repairs.
  • Distribution of Truck fuel and additives
  • Undertake safe loading and unloading.
  • Gain real-world driving experience under supervision.
  • Progress toward gaining a Forklift, MR ,HR and HC licence with full company support.

  • A genuine interest in the transport industry
  • A current, clean, and valid driver's licence (minimum Green Provisional Licence)
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and cheerful outlook
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • IT skills – Microsoft office
