Radiation Therapist Grade 2
Fixed Term or Permanent, Full Time or Part Time roles available
Peter Mac is seeking enthusiastic Radiation Therapists who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care to join our team.
We have multiple opportunities available—including permanent and fixed-term positions at Grade 2 level—across our five campuses: Bendigo, Box Hill, Melbourne, Moorabbin, and Sunshine. Applications from candidates interested in both full-time and part-time roles are welcome.

Our Melbourne campus features a large brachytherapy service, a renowned Gamma Knife program, and is the primary provider of paediatric radiation therapy services in Victoria. This breadth of services offers a unique and well-rounded clinical experience to support your professional growth.

Remuneration as per Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement Grade 2 - Year 1 (BE2): $90, full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) to Grade 2 - Year 5 (ON16): $103, full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) based on candidate experience. Position SummaryTo plan and deliver radiation therapy treatment using ionising radiation in accordance with the treatment prescription and in accordance with all Peter Mac protocols and policies and Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia Professional Capabilities and Code of Conduct. To provide a high level of technical skill to clinical problems, and provide education and support to other members of the team around advanced radiation therapy practices.

1.Practice in Radiation Therapy
- Practice radiation therapy according to MRPBA Professional Capabilities for Medical Radiation Practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of general and advanced radiation therapy principles and practice.
- Apply radiation therapy principles to a range of general and advanced techniques in treatment and planning.
- Apply critical and reflective thinking to resolve complex radiation therapy clinical challenges.
- Apply understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology to clinical activities.
- Apply principles of medical radiation physics and instrumentation.
- Use patient information management systems appropriately.
- Assess the patient's capacity to receive care.
- Formulate, document and implement an effective and tailored patient management plan for complex situations.
- Recognise when input is required from more senior colleagues, and act to obtain their involvement.
