Position Summary

The Audio Engineer is responsible for delivering excellent audio quality for all Inspire Church worship services and events. This role works closely with the Technical Director to ensure optimal sound mixing, equipment operation, and audio support that enhances the worship experience.

While primarily focused on the Liverpool campus, this role provides leadership and support across all Inspire Church campuses and seed churches as the multi-campus ministry requires.

Key Responsibilities
Live Audio Operations

●      Mix live audio for Sunday services, special events, and conferences

●      Operate sound boards, microphones, and audio equipment during services

●      Monitor and adjust audio levels for optimal worship experience

●      Ensure clear audio for both in-person congregation and live streaming

Equipment Management

●      Set up and break down audio equipment for services and events

●      Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of audio systems

●      Coordinate with the Technical Director on equipment upgrades and repairs

●      Maintain inventory of audio equipment and accessories

●      Serve as the contact person with vendors and companies for audio equipment needs

Team Collaboration

●      Work closely with the Worship Music Director to support musical worship

●      Coordinate with the Technical Director on integrated technical operations

●      Support Communications Director with audio needs for video content

●      Actively recruit, train and mentor volunteer audio technicians

Quality Assurance

●      Conduct sound checks and equipment testing before services

●      Document and report technical issues or equipment needs

●      Maintain consistent audio standards across all services and events

●      Continuously improve audio quality and the congregation experience

Requirements

●      Experience with live sound mixing and audio equipment operation

●      Knowledge of audio systems, mixing boards, and wireless microphone systems

●      Understanding of acoustics and sound reinforcement principles

●      Ability to work effectively under pressure during live events

●      Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

●      Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

●      Commitment to Inspire Church's vision and values

●      Availability for Sunday services and occasional special events

Preferred Qualifications

●      Experience in church or live event audio engineering

●      Knowledge of digital audio workstations and recording equipment

●      Understanding of live streaming audio requirements

●      Previous experience training volunteers or team members

●      Certification in audio engineering or a related technical field

●      Familiarity with Planning Center Online or similar scheduling systems
