About the role
We have an opportunity for a Technical Officer to be part of our Wireless Network Group, Technology and Communication Services Command. The Technical Officer provides operational support to policing through technical services and is responsible for the timely completion of urgent and routine maintenance and repair to communications equipment.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, hands-on role that combines fieldwork, technical expertise, and the chance to contribute to public safety.
Key Knowledge & Experience
- Relevant industry experience in an electrotechnology discipline (e.g., Cert III in Electronics and Communications, Electrical, or Auto Electrical)
- Registered cabler status or the ability to obtain registration
- Experience and qualifications in tower climbing and rescue (Desirable, not essential)
- Willingness to undertake training to work at heights on radio towers and structures exceeding 30 meters (Desirable, not essential)
Requirements
- Possess a current driver's licence with no traffic offences in the last six months
- Hold a UEE30911 Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or have equivalent experience in electrical or auto electronics
- Reside within the Snowy Mountains region and be available to start and finish from our Cooma office (unless travelling for site work)
- Please note: Due to the large geographical area we cover, overnight trips are often required.
