The Searoad Ferries Group connects people and places through exceptional experiences across tourism, hospitality, passenger transport, and maritime sectors. As a leading, award-winning company with over 200 dedicated staff, we transport around one million customers each year.

Since 1987, we have proudly operated the iconic Queenscliff-Sorrento car and passenger ferry service. Our ventures also include Explore Australia Tours, Western Port Ferries, Wanderer Adventures, and the Searoad Hospitality Group, which includes: TARRA Queenscliff Restaurant; onboard and onshore grab-and-go food and beverage options; conference facilities; short-term rental accommodation; external catering services; and retail operations.

Our Sorrento Ferry Terminal is undergoing a major redevelopment and will feature a range of exciting new food outlets, including our brand-new ONDA Sorrento coastal mediterranean restaurant, bars, kiosks, and premium dining experiences. We're looking for an experienced, talented Venue Manager to lead front-of-house operations across these multiple outlets.

About the role

As Venue Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful launch and ongoing operation of our new Sorrento venue. You will be responsible for:

  • managing daily operations across multiple food and beverage outlets
  • building and leading the front of house team, shaping a venue that's sure to become a destination
  • ensuring exceptional customer service and memorable experiences
  • maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and compliance
  • contributing to the venue's financial performance and profitability.

About you

To thrive in this role, you will:

  • Lead with proven experience as a Venue Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry, showcasing your success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Master front of house operations by demonstrating your thorough knowledge of food and beverage service, and exceptional customer relations.
  • Develop thoughtful staff scheduling (rosters) to ensure seamless customer experiences and smooth venue operations.
  • Inspire and motivate teams with your passion for creating a positive, collaborative work enviornment and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia with full Australian work rights.

Previous experience opening hospitality venues will be considered an advantage.
