Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and professional Building Professional / Inspector to join our growing team. This role requires a strong background in the building industry, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to clearly communicate findings to clients. You will be responsible for carrying out thorough inspections, recognising defects, preparing detailed reports, and providing practical solutions and cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct pre-purchase and residential and commercial building inspections in line with relevant standards and company procedures.
• Identify, document, and explain building defects, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
• Develop accurate scopes of work and prepare cost estimates, supported by AI-assisted estimating tools.
• Utilise inspection tools and equipment including ladders, moisture meters, levels, and other diagnostic instruments.
• Access tight spaces such as roof voids and subfloors as required.
• Produce professional inspection reports using the inspection report software.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Use AI-assisted prompts to prepare professional client communications via email and text message.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices.
Skills & Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the building and construction industry (inspection experience preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, materials, and defect identification.
• Proven ability to scope works and prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Confident in using inspection and diagnostic tools.
• Proficient with technology, reporting software, and AI-assisted tools.
• Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to educate and guide clients.
• Professional, reliable, and committed to high-quality service delivery.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to safely climb ladders and access roof spaces.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (subfloors, roof voids).
• Physically capable of performing inspection tasks across various environments.
