Who are we?

DCL Engineering Group is an Australian owned Company that has been servicing the industry in mechanical breakdown repairs and engineering for over 60 years, servicing customers through DCL's divisions – Engineering, Gearbox Repairs/Overhauls & Surface Engineering. Our clients are from a diverse range of industries such as mining, steel, timber, power, construction, food, lift & transportation.

About the role

We are now seeking applications from enthusiastic and proactive people wishing to commence a career in modern engineering as a Fitter/Machinist Apprentice at our Fairfield East site.

This role will be full time. You will gain on-the-job experience working onsite and will be fully supported by DCL Engineering in studying towards a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade at TAFE.

Requirements of the role and personal attributes

  • Completed a minimum of Year 10 School Certificate
  • Awareness and commitment to health and safety requirements
  • Self-motivated with a desire and willingness to learn
  • Be comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Have a positive "can do" attitude and sound communication skills
  • Ability to think through a problem and come up with solutions
  • Be a generator of ideas and ability to think outside the square
  • Have a good attitude, sense of humour and the ability to get along with people at all levels
  • Driver's license preferred
