OO3 Senior Farm Hands

This is a full-time casual ongoing position offering 76 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday (9-day fortnight), until the 30th of June 2026 with potential for extension. The successful candidate must also be willing to work weekends on a rostered basis (4 hours Saturday & Sunday).
About the Role:
As an integral part of the TFC team, you will be responsible for hands-on animal care and farm operations, ensuring high standards of welfare, biosecurity, and land management.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- Conduct routine cattle care, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals.
- Apply low-stress stock handling techniques for mustering, drafting, and processing cattle.
- Support veterinarians in blood sampling procedures and administration of prescribed treatments.
- Implement biosecurity measures to safeguard the disease-free status of the vaccine herd.
- Maintain property infrastructure including fencing, water systems, and animal enclosures.
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, including tractors, side-by-sides, and four-wheel drive Utes.
- Carry out chemical applications for weed control in accordance with safety protocols.
- Record and report animal welfare issues accurately, supporting quality assurance requirements.
- Assist in land preparation for pasture improvement and animal nutrition.
- Uphold high standards of workplace health and safety, reporting hazards and incidents promptly.
- A current C-class driver's licence
- Commitment to receiving a Q Fever vaccination prior to starting (or provide proof of prior vaccination)
- The ability to pass a criminal history check
- Experience handling large animals, particularly cattle
- Physical fitness and ability to undertake farm tasks safely
- Ability to follow SOPs and protocols for compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- Experience working with farm equipment and chemical handling (training provided)
- Willingness to assist with operations at the Dalby site when needed
