About the role

Rachel's Place is seeking an experienced and passionate casual educator to join our vibrant and nurturing kindergarten in West End, Brisbane. As a casual educator you will be responsible for assisting to provide a stimulating and engaging learning environment that supports the holistic development of our young children. This casual role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping the minds and hearts of our future leaders.

We are looking for an Educator to cover lunch breaks and staff annual leave as needed.  We are hoping to have an educator join us who is flexible with their ability to work between the days Monday to Friday between the hours 6.45 to 6.00pm

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the roll out of engaging, play-based curriculum to promote learning and development across all key areas
• Fostering a safe, inclusive and caring environment where children can thrive
• Assisting to observing and assess children's progress, and adapting teaching methods to cater to individual needs
• Building strong relationships with children and their families
• Collaborating with the wider team to continuously improve educational practices
• Covering lunch breaks and staff holiday leave

What we're looking for

• Diploma / Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for supporting the holistic development of young children
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
• Current Working with Children (WWC) Check clearance (Blue Card)
• Current First Aid Certificate Early Childhood and up-to-date CPR

About us

Rachel's Place Childcare Centre was founded in 2008 and grew quickly to become a valued part of the West End community. We offer a gorgeous home-like education and care environment for 32 children in a large Queenslander with a stimulating natural tree-shaded environment. The centre is built on a foundation of attachment theory, community development, and the adventurous principles of bush kindy.

With a commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children, parents, and staff all play a role in learning and growth, Rachel's Place is more than just childcare, it's a supportive community. The Rachel's Place vision extends to supporting the development of early childhood professionals in the broader childcare industry.

Mentoring and online courses are offered, with a focus on cultivating relational skills such as listening, reflecting, naming feelings, and co-regulation. We offer a multi-aged child-led program and have created strong connections in our local community. Our program runs many excursions and has a forest school.

We place a strong emphasis on understanding interpersonal neurobiology, why we behave the way we do, and using this knowledge to help children build vital social and self-regulation skills. At Rachel's Place, we believe in empowering both children and educators to grow together.

We have a focus on developing genuine relationships between the children and educators by utilising loose parts and inquiry-based learning. You will work alongside a committed, passionate, nurturing, and supportive team of professional and experienced staff members.

This is an owner operated kindergarten and early learning centre with the successful applicant working with Rachel, the Director.
