About us:
Unitywater operates in one of Australia's most exceptional environments in terms of natural beauty, geographical and demographic breadth. Proudly providing safe and reliable water to customers in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa, we are a water utility serving one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
We think a pretty good job starts here.
About the Role
Unitywater is entering an exciting phase of growth, underpinned by major infrastructure investments to support sustainable development across our region. We're looking for an experienced and driven Development Project Coordinator to join our Development Services (DS) Branch and help shape the future of water and sewer infrastructure delivery.
The Development Services Branch plays a critical role in connecting new developments to Unitywater's water and sewer networks. This includes assessing development applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, facilitating connections, and guiding developers through the often complex approval processes, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and service quality.
As a Development Project Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of delivering major development projects across our rapidly growing region, including within key Priority Development Areas (PDAs). You will coordinate with developers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure critical infrastructure is delivered on time, to standard, and in alignment with Water Infrastructure Agreements (WIAs).
Your role will be central to tracking project milestones, identifying and managing risks, and supporting proactive planning and resource allocation. Through strategic oversight and strong stakeholder collaboration, you'll help Unitywater deliver vital infrastructure to enable housing supply and sustainable regional growth.
This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative role that requires a mix of technical insight, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Mango Hill Head Office.
About you:
Our One Unitywater behaviours - Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It – define how we work together at Unitywater. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
You'll bring:
- Extensive experience in project coordination, civil construction, engineering, or similar field, ideally supported by relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks and regulatory approval processes relevant to land development and infrastructure projects.
- Proven coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects, track key deliverables and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and negotiate effectively with developers, consultants, and internal teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to provide clear written and verbal advice to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to identify risks early and implement process improvements that support efficient project delivery.
- Commitment to customer service excellence, with a professional approach and a strong focus on delivering timely and accurate information.
- Understanding of WH&S principles, with a demonstrated ability to support and model safe working practices.
- Alignment with Unitywater's One Unitywater Behaviours – Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It.
